• answer questions about a short video
• summarize the content of the video in their own words
• are divided into two groups: remote and classroom learners
• each group watches a version of the video with a different ending
• in small groups (in class or in breakout rooms) discuss the questions related to their version of the video
• summarize the video for the other half of the class
• allow learners to choose which ending they would like to watch
• pre-teach necessary vocabulary if required
• encourage students to predict what they think will happen before watching
• show the video two or three times
• facilitate the discussion in small groups
• mingle to check understanding during the discussion
• ask for volunteers to summarize the videos
